Blinded by fame and luxury, celebs often forget that they’re still as normal as everyone else. Although they’re 10 times richer than us, it still doesn’t make them any less human. It’s said that money brings power. Perhaps, this can explain why these celebs committed such terrible crimes. They simply thought that they can get away with it in one way or another. The greatest irony here is how quickly things can change. You see, life can be pretty evil at times. You rise and shine one day and fall the other. Today, we bring you 15 celebs that are perfect examples of this. In fact, some of them don’t even look like criminals. Who could have thought that Abby Lee Miller was such a “bad gal”, right? That’s the point. In spite of their great power and notoriety, these people are still doing time. Let’s take the notorious Suge Knight as an example. What instantly springs to mind is his murder conviction. The former mogul was accused of a deadly hit-and-run on the set of the successful movie Straight Outta Compton. Well, maybe some of these people were just born evil. Below are 15 celebrities you had no idea were still rotting in jail.

15. Joe Giudice

Our first star today is the ill-famed Joe Guidice and his wife Teresa. What’s really interesting here is that Joe is still serving his time in jail. In 2015, Teresa and Joe were both accused of bankruptcy fraud and were later on thrown behind bars. While his wife is currently enjoying life, Joe is yet to complete his sentence. He’s got 41 months left before running back to his wife. Rumor has it that they were also accused of not filing tax returns, either. On top of that, they were reluctant to reveal other details to the court.

14. Ricardo Medina

The Power Rangers Samurai star must have taken his role way too seriously – he stabbed his roommate in cold blood. Allegedly, he even killed him with his own samurai sword. Thankfully, this mentally ill guy didn’t run away from the crime scene. In fact, he handed himself over to the police and pleaded guilty in court. According to the investigation, there was an argument between Ricardo and his roommate. So it turns out that Medina had a way of solving his problems. Apparently, his deadly methods got him behind bars. The story goes on with a pretty disturbing 911 call. Rumor has it that Medina was the one to call the police while yelling at the murdered guy.

13. Sam Hurd

Here we are with another male celebrity who messed up really bad this time. It’s Sam Hurd – the legendary pro-football star – who decided to end his career by distributing over 1,000 pounds of cocaine on the streets. He could have enjoyed his successful life but instead, he’s still serving a 15-year-long sentence. The story of his imprisonment really deserves a movie adaptation. Sam Hurd was captured after he tried to buy at least 5 kg of cocaine and sell it on the streets. Unfortunately for him, the person he negotiated with turned out to be an undercover cop.

12. Abby Lee Miller

The only woman on our shameful list today is Abby Lee Miller. Do you remember seeing her on TV? She’s best known as a choreographer and a dance teacher, but apparently, her fame and success weren’t enough for her. Perhaps this is what made her commit this nasty crime earlier this year. Abby Lee Miller was imprisoned after smuggling in $120,000 which practically destroyed her career. Although her sentence isn’t that harsh, Abby is yet to serve a total of 366 days in jail. Upon her release though, she’s also ordered to pay up to $120,000 in fines.

11. Shelley Malil

Best known for his role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Shelly Malil was charged with murder after his ex-girlfriend was found dead. His rumored lover girl was stabbed multiple times for one reason only: she had an affair. Shelley apparently lost his mind when he found out that his girlfriend had a thing for someone else. In a nutshell, Shelley Malil allegedly stabbed her over 20 times in the back, neck, and chest. Somehow, the woman survived the attack and said that his remorse was fake. In her own words, Shelly Malil is a terrible actor at that – his testimony was nothing but a great lie.

10. Jared Fogle

Who was this guy anyway? Well, Jared Fogle was the former Subway spokesperson who was charged with child pornography. According to the court, Jared Fogle also left the country to pay for sex with a few minors. Seriously? Well, it seems that the former sandwich slinger had lots of issues. As for his incarceration, Jared was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months behind bars. The story doesn’t stop here, though – Jared was later ordered to pay over $170,000 in fines and over $1 million in restitution. Another curious thing is that Jared is rumored to have used guards for his own protection. Perhaps this was why he got beaten up so badly in jail. Obviously, he forgot that he’s in prison and his inmates are just as bad as he is.

9. Phillip Harvey Spector

The famous music producer will probably have to say goodbye to his professional career. There’s a really good chance that Phillip Harvey Spector won’t be able to make it out of prison alive. In 2003, Phillip Spector was caught by the police after an attempted murder of the actress Lana Clarkson. Lana was found dead, tied to a chair in his home. There’s a pretty gruesome detail about the way he put an end to her life: Lana Clarkson was shot dead in the mouth. After his first trial, the jury concluded that he would be hung. Gladly for him, the death penalty was eventually replaced with a life sentence. The bad news is that Phillip is very likely to spend the rest of his days rotting in prison.

8. C-Murder

Given his life sentence, it’s now clear why this guy was dubbed C-Murder. In 2002, the former musician was thrown behind bars following the murder of a teenager. According to witnesses, there was a scuffle between the guy and C-Murder. Obviously, they couldn’t settle things without a fight so the scuffle quickly turned into a gruesome crime. Allegedly, C-Murder got into a fight with a 16-year-old boy outside a nightclub in Harvey. He was accused of shooting him down in cold blood. The jury also stated that the teenager was shot in the chest and was beaten up by C-Murder’s friends shortly afterward.

7. Joshua Allen

In 2016, the 28-year-old entertainer received a 1-year-long sentence in connection with two felony charges. What comes as a surprise is that one of his charges was for domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend. Due to his aggressive assault, the talented dancer has to serve 1 year behind bars. As you can imagine, he’s currently doing time. As for his ex, he has to keep away from her for at least 10 years or so. We know – Joshua doesn’t really look like a criminal. But still, he is yet to serve his sentence that also includes 5 years of probation.

6. Oscar Pistorius

Oscar Pistorius made headlines when he sprinted in the 2012 Summer Olympics as a double amputee. Although he really wowed the world with his great achievement there, he became famous for something else. On Feb 14th, Oscar reportedly fired a round at his girlfriend. The gruesome crime allegedly took place in a closed bathroom. His girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, died of her wounds later on. At first, Oscar lied that he had nothing to do with the murder but the prosecution confirmed the exact opposite.

5. O. J. Simpson

O.J. Simpson is probably the only celebrity whose criminal past doesn’t really come as a shock to us. After all, he’s best known for his legal troubles with the law. In fact, he’s more famous as a criminal than as a legendary football player. This guy was indeed charged with murder. The American football legend was actually accused of killing his ex-wife who was found stabbed to death. What comes as a great shock though was the fact that he was acquitted of the charges. In 2008, O.J. Simpson was charged with kidnapping and armed robbery – he got sentenced to at least 30 years in jail for his crime. As for his case of murder, it’s still a mystery how he got away with it.

4. Ray Nagin

The former New Orleans Mayor got caught up in a really shameful situation. Ray was accused of fraud and money laundering while still holding public office. Naturally, he didn’t get away with it so he received a 10-year-long sentence. As you can imagine, he’s still serving his sentence in jail. Well, it would be safe to say that his immoral deeds landed him in federal prison for a pretty long time. According to the public statements, the former mayor relied on local businesses and city contractors to support and fund his lavish lifestyle.

3. Apollo Nida

Another day, another crime – you did recognize Phaedra Parks’ estranged husband, Apollo, didn’t you? Well, it seems like The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was married to a real badass. Too bad it’s not meant in a good way. Apollo Nida was indeed charged with bank fraud and mail theft. Presently, he’s still serving his 8-year-long sentence for his immoral deeds a few years back. At first, Apollo’s punishment was quite hard, though. Originally, the court sentenced him to at least 30 years in prison. Luckily for him, the jury decided to lessen his sentence because of his cooperation with the detectives. If it weren’t for it, he would still be serving his 30-year-long sentence.

2. Bobby Shmurda

The notorious rapper, Bobby Shmurda, got himself in hot water for his illegal possession of guns and drugs. Surely, Bobby turned down all accusations, including the assault charges. Although Bobby had a good lawyer, he couldn’t escape the law and its fair judgment. The rapper claims that he was forced to take a plea deal with the court. In fact, his cooperation with the court lessened the sentence of his friends too. As a result of this, his sentence was also reduced to only 7 years behind bars. So far he’s served almost half of his sentence. Officially, the ill-famed rapper will be out in 2021.

Suge Knight was incarcerated for real and you won’t believe what he was convicted of. Rumor has it that Suge Knight deliberately hit a guy with his luxurious vehicle and then ran him over. The craziest part of the story is the actual reason that sent him out of control. Suge lost his temper when a guy wanted to park “in the wrong place”. Well, it turns out that this parking space was indeed the wrong one. According to the investigation, that guy was murdered after a hit-and-run on the set of the movie Straight Outta Compton.
