Have you ever heard someone say, “nice guys finish last?” That phrase is repeated by people of all shapes and sizes. A large percentage of guys can say they’ve chased after a girl who wouldn’t give them the time of day. Why wouldn’t they give the time of day? Because they were in a stage where douchebags we’re attractive. For guys who would go above and beyond for a special woman, it can be difficult when a douchebag takes that girl of your dreams away from you. There is nothing cool about a girl being treated wrong. But for some women, there’s something irresistible about a guy that is too powerful to the point where he becomes a douchebag. But, not all women will pick players. They might date a few of them and then learn their lesson on why they need a good guy. Women want to feel important, loved, and special. We want to be treated with immense respect. 15. They Want To Change The Guy

If a man isn’t treating a woman good, but she doesn’t want to lose him, she’ll do anything she can to change him. This ends up terrible. There can be bad boys willing to change for a girl they really love. But if the relationship isn’t meant to be, there’s a chance you won’t be the girl he changes for. The harsh truth is that you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change. Most girls will end up staying with a guy like this until they give up and realize that trying to change him has not been effective. It can be a sad situation, because some people possess a good heart and want the best for their significant other. Women sometimes just need to let these douchebags learn for themselves that their actions are immoral.

Douchebags have the tendency to be attractive. Because they’re attractive, they can get away with being a playboy. Looks are typically the first thing to attract you to a person. Someone’s personality is what makes them a keeper, but looks are usually what starts a first date.

Lust is a powerful thing. Like love, it makes you blind to someone’s true intentions. If a girl’s single and looking for a relationship, there’s a high chance she will agree to go on a date with a man that’s a perfect ten. Women want to show off what they’re capable of getting and let people know what is theirs.

One guy might have the perfect hair, smile, and six-pack abs. But, if he’s lacking a gracious personality then things will go bad quickly. There’s many qualities in a man that can be more attractive than his looks, such as ambition and a sense of humor.

13. They’re Good In Bed

A male that’s great in bed has the power to make a girl fall in love with him. Some douchebags are informed of the right moves to perform in bed. They can make a girl who has never had an orgasm before be screaming at the top of her lungs. They might know all her sweet spots or particular movements to make the s*x unforgettable.

If a man will satisfy a woman, she’s more than likely going to forgive him pretty quickly if she feels good. The pleasure you receive from someone has the potential to be addicting. Not all women are satisfied with their s*x life, so when they find someone who can fulfill them, it can be like a fairytale.

Being good in bed isn’t an excuse to treat women like crap. Sadly, some of these bad guys think it is. Don’t be like them.

12. Good Guys Are “Boring”

Females can be biased. Not all of them are, but a large handful are. They might base how boring a guy is off of an exchange they had with a nice guy once. Some nice guys can be boring, but most of them aren’t. A lot of nice guys can bring excitement and fun into your life. They just aren’t as assertive as douchebags, so in a woman‘s eyes, it can look like they’re not interesting.

When a woman is in a stage in life where she’s ready to be wild and crazy, there’s a chance she’ll be attracted to bad guys. It’s because of the danger, thrill, and anticipation they can bring into a relationship. Douchebags will usually be the initiator with women and provide them some of the most fun they’ve had within one night of meeting them. It’s like an adrenaline rush.

11. Douchebags Are Challenging

Douchebags can be hard to get into a relationship with because they have such a variety of women to choose from. Men like this are not a fan of commitment. They might claim that you’re special, but are really talking to 19 other girls. But, if you can become their “official” girlfriend, you’ve won the game. A female might think that she is the best girl in his life if he chooses her officially over those 19 other girls, but that’s not always the case. Most girls have experienced this one way or the other.

It’s fun to win the chase – you’ll feel ambitious, successful, and on top of the world. But, that feeling might not last too long. When girls win the chase, they usually then experience how difficult it can be to date one of these types of guys. It might take a week, month, or even a year for women to become aware of it.

10. Daddy Issues

Daddy issues are a real problem. A lot of women have grown up without a dad or father figure in their life. There are some not-so-great dads out there, and sometimes women need someone who will fill that missing piece. If a woman’s dad was a player, then guess what? She’s going after players.

Most people aren’t aware that they’re dating douchebags because of their daddy issues. The logic is that if you can get an a**hole guy to treat you good like your dad should’ve, the treatment will take away all the hurt you’ve received from your father. As someone who has been in that position, I can definitely say that the logic is one hundred percent wrong. Lots of people don’t realize that logic is what’s running through their subconscious mind. Later on, they’ll find out (or maybe not) and all the missing pieces will come together.

9. She Doesn’t Respect Herself

Some women don’t respect themselves. They feel comfortable when they’re disrespected. While they might not enjoy being disrespected, they’ll feel great about the relationship when things calm down. These types of women sometimes refuse to open up about the reason behind why they fail to respect themselves.

Men that disrespect women know exactly what their strong and weak points are. They know what words will fix everything. They’re aware of what buttons to push. They might use excuses like, “I’m just doing this because I love you,” or something equivalent. It’s easy for girls that don’t love themselves to feel content in a situation like that.

If a girl has this problem, she has to fix it by herself. Nobody else can force her to love herself. There’s not much you can do besides talking about it and helping her find the root of what’s going on.

8. Douchebags Know The Right Words To Say

Women are attracted to what they hear. Lines like, “I’ve never met a girl that compares to you,” or, “You’re on my mind all day,” will make us hot and bothered. Douchebags are highly talented at knowing the right words to say to girls. They’re smart because they are aware of what women like hearing. They’ll call you cute names like, “Baby Girl,” or “Princess,” and it will make you feel like your heart is exploding. This is where reality kicks in: he’s probably said what he’s saying to you to over 100 girls.

Women want an honest man. We love being told what we want to hear, but we also want the words to be honest at the same time. Honesty is the best policy in all relationships. Finding the balance between sweet words and being honest is the best thing for men to do.

7. Douchebags Are Brave

What woman wouldn’t want a guy to approach her fearless with confidence and bravery? While there is a small amount of women that wouldn’t be into that for various reasons, most girls dig confidence. It’s pretty uncommon for nice guys to just randomly approach a woman and ask her out. Most douchebags aren’t afraid to speak to women and have no issue asking them out in a bold way.

Some nice guys are terrified of being rejected. Let me tell you this straight up – she would much rather you ask her out than have to sit there and guess if you’re attracted to her or not. Rejection happens, and it’s a part of life. Getting rejected is better than being in a relationship with someone who doesn’t have any interest in you.

The men I personally know that complain about women dating douchebags are the guys that don’t even try to get a girl’s attention.

6. Douchebags Are Disliked By Parents

Rebellion never gets old. We’ve all done something rebellious, even if it’s little, once in our life. Good girls are just bad girls that haven’t been caught yet. Good parents want the best for their kids. The best for their daughter is a nice guy that has good manners and can provide stability and love. If women want to make their parents mad, they’ll go for the bad guys.

Not all kids have a rebellious streak. Some kids really do want to please their parents to the point that it causes anxiety. But, there are some girls out there that just want to get a reaction out of their parents and that continues even when they’re older. There are so many reasons a woman would date a bad boy for the sake of what her parents think. They could be trying to prove a point, looking for attention, want family members to stop asking about marriage, or just want to see if they’re still loved when they go against their parents’ wishes.

5. Girls Don’t Want To Commit

Most girls aren’t going to settle down with a douchebag. One thing that’s obvious is that bad boys aren’t down for commitment. One reason why we date them is because we’re not looking for commitment, either. Girls don’t always know what they want. They’re the type of people that always say, “Whatever you choose,” when a guy asks where she wants to eat.

Some women just date these guys for the fun of it. They don’t date them with the intention to settle down. They know that douchebags won’t be getting married anytime soon. There are no worries about being tied down.

You don’t really see too many women over the age of twenty-five dating playboys, and the reason is that they want a guy that can really offer them something. At a young age, there’s no need for a man who is going to stick a ring on your finger.

4. A Woman’s Hormones Will Trick Her

There’s a percentage of women that don’t ovulate. But, if a woman does ovulate, that might just be one of the reasons she goes for men that are jerks. One study that was published in Journal of Personality and Social Psychology in 2014, revealed some interesting info. The study showed that ovulation hormones can cause women to think that sexier and more powerful men will make a loyal significant other and father.

The researchers of this study presented the subjects with dating profiles of dominate appearing men, and then one of nicer and reliable men. After the women looked through the profiles, they were asked which partner they think would play a part in parenting doing things such as helping with kids and other household chores. The men that were more likely to be a douchebag won.

But, there’s some good news for nice men out there: when ovulation is over, women gravitate towards genuine and caring men again.

3. Women Are Taught Young

When girls are young, they watch princess movies where the princess finds her prince charming. But, when they get older, the movies and TV shows tend to be ones with a strong female lead role. That female usually always dates bad guys, and the nice guys are portrayed as nerdy or weird, which isn’t an accurate representation of nice guys in real life. One way we learned things as a kid is through the media. We pick up what we see on TV, hear on the radio, or read in magazines.

If your family has a weird habit growing up, you might not realize how weird it is until you move out or meet another family that doesn’t do the same thing. The same thing applies to what you see on TV and movies. At a vulnerable age, it can be easy to believe that douchebags are a normal part of life.

2. Some Girls Have Negative Beliefs

The habit of thinking negatively can cause someone to become very close minded. If a woman constantly is thinking that she won’t ever find a nice man then she most likely won’t. The reason for this is because she’ll train her brain to believe that nice men literally have no existence on earth. You might know a woman who has this kind of view.

When you think that every single guy in the world is a douchebag, you will eventually start to put up with douchebags. You won’t believe that there is anything better out there. There are good and decent men out there. But, those negative thoughts won’t help a woman in any way when it comes to finding one. Negative thoughts will make you sad and miserable, along with thinking that something false is true. Positive thinking for the win!

1. They’re Gold Diggers

This definitely does not apply to all women, but one reason why women go after douchebags is due to the fact that they’re loaded with money. Some men think that if they spend all their paycheck on a girl, they’ll instantly be able to get her into bed. Rich men are usually powerful men. Like I said in my last article, there really is a reason that 50 Shades of Grey is so popular.

While having a man pay all your bills and buy you fancy shoes might seem nice, there’s a downside to it. If he’s a jerk, he’ll treat you like an object that he bought. Having a woman that can take care of herself is great. Sure, it might not be as fun for them as being able to blow money that’s not their own. But, a woman who is driven and can take care of herself usually isn’t going after guys just for their money.
