The total rate of celebrities who still decided to put an end to their lives despite their success in the industry is solid evidence that happiness cannot always be bought by fame or fortune. Recently, the likes of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington weren’t able to win over their personal demons. You might ask, “Why do they need to kill themselves when they have most of the things that other people long for?” The soul needs more than those fleeting labels in life because fame and fortune are usually short-lived. Just because they are celebrities doesn’t mean they can pass from all the challenges of life. Also, just because they are putting off a smile doesn’t mean they are happy. It doesn’t work that way. Sometimes, people hide what they really feel in fear of being misunderstood.
You cannot always have everything, but that is not always heartbreaking. At your lowest point, you realize who your true friends are and above most, you discover your true self. When celebrities hit rock bottom, they obviously fall apart. Everyone they thought would be there was suddenly busy. Perhaps, that can be one of the reasons why some celebrities commit suicide – lack of support system. This leads to depression, a feeling that you can never escape from with no trouble.
Other reasons include bankruptcy, the influence of drugs and alcohol, and mental health issues. In showbiz, money can come and go because nothing is permanent in the entertainment industry. You can be a one-day millionaire and a homeless person the next. Thus, when they do not save enough money and go bankrupt, they draw closer to vices. When this happens, mental health issues can float up. Whether it’s an unforeseen suicide event or not, we should always be sensitive to the people around us so we can avoid losing another angel.
