Have you ever watched a movie where the characters are searching for treasure and wondered if such a scenario could actually exist? A treasure chest full of gold, some long lost Royal jewels or a fabled gem-stone the size of your fist – These are all examples that are commonly used in movies or stories about hidden treasures. OK, so for most of us, finding hidden treasure equates to discovering that $5 bill you forgot you had in your coat pocket or maybe lifting that couch cushion to discover $1.57 in change. If you are into using a metal detector, you can definitely find more treasure-like objects but we don’t think you’ll be stumbling across a treasure chest belonging to a pirate any time soon.
Indeed, there remains a great deal of lost or hidden treasures all around the world and much of it you could still conceivably find. We’re not talking wooden chests hidden in caves shaped like skulls but some of these treasures have stories that aren’t far off.
